Welcome to the scheduling page for Music Auditions at Valpo.

Our professors are excited to hear the talent and artistry in the incoming class of students. Whether you are pursuing a music major or continuing your musical studies and performance while studying another subject, Valpo has a place for every student musician.

Music auditions are required of all students who wish to pursue a music major or minor and for all students seeking a music scholarship. You can request your audition by selecting your preferred audition date and time on the calendar and completing the Music Application. Available dates are:
Saturday, Nov. 16
Saturday, Jan. 25
Saturday, Feb. 15
Monday, Feb. 17
Saturday, March 29
All start times are listed in Central Time (the same as Chicago). 

The Music Application requires:
-Basic information about yourself and your musical education
-Contact information for a music teacher or director who can provide a letter of recommendation
-*optional – a short, five-minute pre-screening video or audio clip that demonstrates your performing ability in one or two musical selections, chosen from the standard published classical repertoire.

Your visit will include:
-Check-in at a welcome table in the lobby of the Valparaiso University Center for the Arts
-Conversation with Valpo music students and faculty
-Time to warm up
-A private audition with members of the music faculty
-A brief assessment exam in general music knowledge and music fundamentals
