    Intro to Valpo Day

    We’re looking forward to hosting you at Valparaiso University!

    High School Seniors & Transfer Students, our general introduction provides:

    • September 26 registration is closed; October 17 is now open for registrations!
    • Check-in at the Harre Union (enjoy sweet treats from our award-winning dining staff);
    • Next is an overview of the University, including insight into our academics;
    • Followed by a personal campus tour (one family per tourguide),
    • And ending with general information about study abroad, faith life, admission, financial aid, scholarships, student activities, finding your career or vocation, and more.
    • Leave around 3 hours later with a voucher to use at one of a select group of Downtown Valpo Restaurants so you can explore our students’ options off campus!
    We are not hosting specific academic sessions; high school seniors and transfer students are encouraged to reach out to their admission counselor or our visit coordinator to set up a conversation with a professor from your academic interest.  We hope to host high school underclassmen in the Spring.

    Your program will provide times and a list of places you may want to check out while in the area! Please read about our COVID Safety Protocols, below. Safe travels and we'll see you soon!

    COVID Safety Protocols
    Valpo is implementing safety protocols for our visitors and campus community that align with the Indiana Department of Health and Governor’s directives. These include the following:

    • All employees and guests must wear a cloth face covering over their nose & mouth when on campus. Those unable to wear a mask will not be allowed to participate in the visit per campus policy.

    • Limit the number in your group to no more than 3 (yourself plus three guests).

    • If you or any family member has had any of the following symptoms related to the COVID-19 virus in the last 14 days, and have not had the COVID-19 nasal test or the results came back positive, we cannot accommodate your visit; please visit us virtually.

      • The symptoms are: Fever, persistent cough, shortness of breath, chills/shaking with chills, muscle aches/pains, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.

      • If you had a COVID-19 nasal test within the past 14 days, and the results were negative, please bring a copy of the results with you to your visit.

    • Take your temperature before leaving home, and reschedule your visit if anyone has a fever or symptoms as indicated above.

    • Check-in at the Harre Union will limit contact with other families and includes us asking COVID-related questions when you arrive.

    • Seating for sessions will be assigned (alphabetical by the students’ last names) and set up to maintain required social distancing, so you must adhere to the number and names of persons you are bringing with you to the visit day.

    • We offer hand sanitizer throughout the buildings you will be visiting.
